iPad 3 Headed Into Production

Susquehanna Financial analyst Jeff Fidacaro told to Allthingsd that the device is headed into production.

“Since our last month supply chain checks we are now seeing 600,000 to one million iPad 3 builds showing up on the plan for the fourth quarter of calendar 2011. Our previous estimate did not include any iPad 3s.”

Facebook to Launch iPad App at Apple’s iPhone 5 Event

Mashable reported that Facebook will launch its long-awaited iPad app at Apple’s iPhone 5 launch event on Oct. 4. In addition to the iPad app, Facebook is also expected to release a revamped version of its iPhone app and may unveil an HTML5-based mobile app marketplace.

The Facebook iPad app, which leaked earlier this year, has been in limbo at Facebook for the past few months. That much was made clear in a blog post Monday by former Facebook engineer Jeff Verkoeyen. Now that Apple has officially released the iPad, here’s an iPad UI template to start designing your iPad application. The PSD file was constructed using vectors that makes it fully editable. The work screen design is formatted to 768×1024 resolution so anything you design in the Photoshop (PSD) file can easily be brought over to the (Software Development Kit) SDK. While Apple’s interface builder is great, it doesn’t really allow us to create custom UI elements on the fly.
